digital data recovery
I am looking for information about recovering data on hard drives that those who are dead or near death.?

I have two disks Western Digital drives (120 gig and 100 gig) which are in difficulty, to say the least. Both contain personal pictures and music only and should almost an eternity to replace so I am hoping to save my files and hopefully then transfer to a safer place. I heard talk a little recovery applications software, but never used them and so if anyone can offer assistance in this area, I'd be very grateful. This is what I have, I have trouble getting the system to recognize the disc when I put in as a slave to my existing hard drive that is smaller supreme. Only, it appears as a drive but has no operating system, etc. is unnecessary. The sounds coming from him become progressively worse and if I get nervous that it may lock. Also, is it possible to retrieve information from a reader who has died completely and can not be detected? Many Thanks!

The best way to get information about a key as it is not connecting to a computer unless you are absolutely ready to pass the information off the drives. If you have connected, it still turns the plates, even if you do not access the drives. So its possible to confine and kill em just having them connected. There are many tools out there for data recovery, but none of them really work better then the good ol DOS mode '. If you have a floppy Start using DOS … DOS boot disks with bad and good hard disk drive connected o the system, then pass the information on this way. If you try to start either one you can cause more damage and losing more information, it is important to boot to a floppy disk using DOS the least possible space in memory and less likely to be hard unless the data are accessible on the move. Then repeat top with second hard drive. Good luck. PS: Do not freeze hard! Lowering the temperature causes condensation in the discs, which lead to more of an opportunity not to hard before you get the information off them. I can not get my point across enough of the how a bad idea is to freeze the readers.
